We spent Easter in Chattanooga. Although it was a short trip, it was really nice!! Here are just some pictures of us coloring eggs and Easter Sunday. (I took a bunch more, but I'll upload those later)

So, Saturday- Feb. 28th- we had some CRAZY weather! There were tornado warnings all around us (apparently, one touched down just a few miles from here. It rained like crazy! Our yard was so flooded- it looked like we lived on beach front property! Here are some pictures while it was still raining:

This might not look like much, but I went out there and stood in the puddle, the fence was forming a dam and the puddle went almost to my knees....

This is probably a good 6 inches of water...

Well, after the rain stopped, we all went outside to look at the damage. We were in shorts and tee shirts- it was like 75 degrees.... BUT we woke up on Sunday to....

SNOW!!!!! March 1st in Alabama, and we got about 6 inches of snow.

Christmas in Chattanooga

On Christmas Day, we all drove up to Chattanooga! I didn't take pictures of us opening presents and Gran and Grandaddy's. But I did get some afterwards!

Aunt Stephanie, UK, Matt, and Emily got Mary a tu-tu!! She didn't think it should go around her waist though- she wanted it on her head!!

And then she proceded to have everyone else put it on there head!!

Christmas Morning!

I don't have to many pictures from Christmas morning- but I will explain why in a little bit!

We had such a great Christmas! We all went to Midnight Mass (Mary did great!) and came home to wait for Santa Claus!! (Richard and I had to wake Mary up!)

Our tree Christmas morning! (The cards on the tree was a tradition in Richard's family and now we buy cards for each other and put them on the tree too!)

So- the reason I didn't take to many pictures:

Richard bought me a Nikon D60 Gold Edition camera!! After sending me on a scavanger hunt for it, I found the camera and ALL the accessories I will need for it individually wrapped in the ottoman!! I was not expecting it at all!

(I know it seems like getting a camera for Christmas should mean I took a ton of pictures, but I didn't format the disc when I first put it in my new camera, so when I DID format it, all my pictures were erased! Oops!!

We carved our pumpkins last night! We let Mary color on her pumpkin instead of trying to carve it. She had a blast! We tried to get her to help us take out the seeds and insides of the pumpkin, but she thought that was just a little to "yucky" for her! She had a good time, though, and kept laughing and laughing after we lit the candles inside the pumpkin. She thought that was so funny!

David Creath Bryant died of a long-term illness in Port Angeles. He was 78.Mr. Bryant was born to Mark Libby and Pauline (Creath) Bryant.Mr. Bryant was a member of the Washington National Guard from 1948 to 1956.He married Mary Leona Carlson in Tacoma on Aug. 5, 1955.He earned a master's of divinity degree, and was pastor of the Bible Presbyterian Church in San Diego and Fairview Bible Church in Port Angeles.He also was a millworker for Rayonier Inc. in Port Angeles, and a union member.Mr. Bryant enjoyed deer hunting, hiking and camping. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed pingpong, tennis and golf, and was a member of the hole-in-one club.He also enjoyed history and studying Scripture.He was a foster parent.Survivors include his wife; sons Art Bryant of Port Angeles and Dan Bryant of Leavenworth; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Carol Bryant of Bellingham; daughter Laura Eyestone of Port Angeles; daughters and sons-in-law Rebecca and Bo King, Paula and Clipper Elder, and Jennifer and Kevin Denton, all of Port Angeles; sisters and brothers-in-law Leslie and Bill Jarmon of Gig Harbor and Susan and Lee Reeves of Rochester; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by brother Mark Dunnell Bryant.Services: Saturday, Sept. 6, 2:30 p.m., memorial at Fairview Bible Church, 385 O'Brien Road, Port Angeles.Inurnment will be at Mount Angeles Memorial Park, U.S. Highway 101 and Monroe Road. Mom and dad came out to Oregon to pick Mary up so she wouldn't have to endure the VERY long car ride across the country! They didn't stay long, and we spent most of the time trying to finish up the house, but we were able to do a little bit of sigh seeing!

The 4th of July in Port Angeles

We went to Port Angeles for July 4th weekend. Mary got to explore Granpa's porperty and had such a blast! We shot fire works off at Granpa's house before going downtown to watch the Big Ones! We spent some time over at Great- Granma and Great- Granpa B's house where Mary got to meet some of her second cousins! It was a great trip! (Even though it was cold, yes, cold on the Fourth of July....) Mary trying on the swing Granpa built for her

We decided to go camping with some friends of ours very spur of the moment. But I'm glad we went! It was so relaxing and we had such a nice time! Mary did so good! I took a ton of pictures- but these are some of the better ones. There are a lot of them! Be prepared!

Her First Boat Ride

We've been going out on the boat with out friends, and this was her very first boat ride... She had a blast!!! She's my little water girl!

A few weeks ago, I came into Mary's room to find her trying to climb into her crib! I thought, "Uh-oh, it won't be to much longer now..."

Sure enough, I went in after her nap time, and found her climbing OUT of her crib!

So, Mary is now in a "big girls" bed. I went out and she helped me pick out her new princess bed set. She's so good about climbing into bed when she's tired (Granted, I have found her a few times lying on the floor by her book shelf, or in front of the door...) But for the most part, she's doing great!!

My friend, Chelsee, is in the process of trying to become a professional photographer. She wanted to add to her portfolio, so she asked if Mary and I would pose for her. Here are some of the pictures:

Just because some people didn't recongize me (hehe) the girl with Mary in the following pictures is me!! I guess I don't look the same when I wear make-up and wear my hair down!!! :-)

Well, it's been awhile since I've updated. A big reason is because our camera has finalling commited zut-zut... But we just got another one so new picures will be coming soon!! But, or most recent news to report: Mary has used the potty twice since Saturday!!! I'm pretty excited, because it won't be much longer till we're out of diapers!!! Richard will be going to Georgia at the end of May to look for our house!! We've already found some online that we like and have been talking to our realtor so its just a matter of time!!! But, like I said, I'll be putting some pictures up soon!!

This was built by a man for his wife. It then was turned into a War memorial. Mary loved running around and chasing Daddy. It was a nice drive and we had a great time!

There was a little hike down the hill and Mary loved climing on the rocks!! She kept leaving the path to go climb more rocks!!

Aunt TT's Trip to Oregon

Aunt TT flew back with me and Mary to do a little sigh seeing (and to help me out on the flight!) Unfortantly, our plans of going to the coast were ruined because it snowed!! So, we just drove around the mountains by our home. We got some VERY nice pictures!! It was a little overcast, but still... Nature is truely beautiful!

Well, we just got back from Chattanooga, and we took a TON of pictures!! I apoligize for how random they are... But they're just too cute to not post!! So, bear with the randomness and enjoy!!

My parents have a little turtle statue that sits on a swing- Mary LOVED pushing him!! Grandaddy and Aunt KK taught Mary how to do a "rollar coaster" noise whenever they would swing her (so it would be like she was climbing to the top of a big hill on a rollarcoaster...) And Mary would make that noise when she would push the turtle!!

Bird watching with Grandaddy... When ever Grandaddy would whistle to call his blue birds, Mary would say "Tweet tweet!" She would even hold the worms Grandaddy feeds the birds with!

There was one day where it rained cats and dogs. We don't get a lot of rain out in Oregon, so this was a treat for Mary. She was running around splashing in all the puddles!!!

My parents' neighbor's always decorate for every holiday. Mary loved the Easter bunnies they had in their front yard! Everytime we went out front, she immediatly went over to see the bunnies...

She loved watching the fish in Grandaddy and Gran's pond!! She would help feed them and then laugh and laugh and laugh!!

Mary, Gran, and I went to the playground while in Chattanooga. It really hit me while there, that my little baby is no longer a baby... She's a little girl, and it was so obvious while watching her run around on the playground, and climbing up on things only "big girls" can climb on. She didn't even really need Mommy's help! She had a blast though...It was just sad for Mommy to realize how quickly she's growing up...

Richard surprised us with a trip to the coast!! We stayed one night in an amazing condo!! And spent Sunday just being tourists! It was such a nice vacation! We all had such a good time!!!

As we were leaving The Dalles, we saw this rainbow. Every family vacation I've ever been on, I've seen a rainbow. We always say its Paw paw and Gran Gran (My mom's parents) letting us know they're watching over us... It was such a pretty rainbow- this picture doesn't do it justice!!

Before we even left town, Mary feel asleep! She even has her sandwich in her hand!! Poor little sleepy head!

The Beach!

When we got to Seaside Saturday evening, we went to the beach despite the cold!!! Mary LOVED it!! It was so beautiful to see the sun setting on the water...So, there are a lot of pictures!! (I couldn't stop taking them!) But it's hard not to take pictures when Mary was just enjoying herself so much!!

After we came inside from the cold, we put Mary in some warm jammies and wrapped her up in the blanket and watched 101 Dalmations!! She was soooo cold! But she didn't let it stop her...

After we put Mary down for a nap, Richard said he was going to pick up something to eat. He ended up cooking me the dinner in the above picture!!! Steak and shrimp and a pasta salad with a bean salad and toast!!! I was very surprised!! And it was so very good!!

I tried to wake my baby up from her nap so I could feed her dinner, but she was to exhausted... Poor little girl!

These next pictures are from Sunday morning at the beach...It wasn't nearly as cold out and the sun was shining! So we stayed out there looking for shells and getting chased by waves for a few hours!!

Sunday morning, we went sightseeing downtown. We went to an aquarium where Mary got to see the seals!! She loved them!! We also went into all the little shops down town...Mary got to ride a choo-choo train AND a carousel! It was such a nice vacation...

We decided to go to Portland to just get out of the town for a day. We went to a neat little store where Mary found her new, favorite "duck duck"! She started pointing and saying "duck duck" and then she'd let us know the duck goes "Quack! Quack!" So, we broke down and bought it for her!!

Last night, I put Mary in her high chair for dinner. She wouldn't touch ANY of her food! So I sat her down on the regular chair, put her food in front of her, and she ate EVERYTHING!! She just wanted to prove that she was a "big girl" and should sit in a big girls seat!!! So, now, we have to go and get a booster seat for her!!! She was so proud...

I bought her a "big girls" cup too!! She'll be ditching the sippy cups before we know it!!!

I walked into Mary's room the other night, and I what a scene it was!!! Not only did she take all her stuffed animals out of their basket, but she had climbed into the basket!! She thought nothing of it, and was just having a fun time playing... until she realized she couldn't get out!!! Poor little girl!!

We've been having some difficulty with our computer and camera lately...So, I FINALLY got it all figured out!!! As I've been scanning through the pictures- it surprises me how much Mary has changed in just a few weeks!!! She's become so vocal lately!! Her list of words she can CLEARLY say are: juice, milk, Bubby (thats what we call Hudson), out, cracker, good, yum yum, there, cheese, Bunny, KK (Aunt Karen...we call her KK), TT (Aunt Terie...we call her TT), Gran, she said Grandaddy (it sounded more like Gan- daddy...), okay, kitty, and of course the basics like mommy, daddy, bye bye, and hey!!! She also knows what sounds the following animals make: Bears, horses, kittys, puppys, monkeys, sheep, and fish! (I know fish don't make a noise...but she opens and closes her mouth quickly like a fish does!!) She has also used her potty twice now!!! She's growing up so quickly!!

Mary was invited to a birthday party this past weekend. Her babysitter's daughter was turning five, and so she invited Mary!! It was such a nice party with games, cake, icecream, and a pinata!! Mary was so cute running around after the pinata had been hit, collecting the candy and putting it in our bag!! (I even let her have a lollipop!! It was a birthday, after all, and she "won" it herself...So I figured she deserved it!)

Valentines Day!

We had a great Valentines Day!!! Richard really out did himself this year. My big present was a GUN!!! I'm so exicted!! It's a little .22 6 shooter hand gun!! It is such a "cowboy" gun and I LOVE it!!! Mary really enjoyed her Valentines Day! She received a big book of Princess stories, a coloring book, and a little stuffed bear!!

There are two things which have recently happened that I thought I would post about!! The first is: Mary used her potty!!! We still aren't actively trying to potty train her, but after every nap and meal, we sit her on her potty...and it actually worked!! Afterwards, (I was of course praising her and clapping for her...) She started clapping for herself and then said "Ta-da!" She's growing up too fast!!! The other bit of news, is: Mary is going to have twin cousins! Richard's sister, Amber, just found out she's about 6 weeks along with twins. Aparently they could already tell their identical (They're in the same sac...) She's due September 28th! (ANOTHER September birthday, or should I say, 2!) We're so happy for Amber!

Our friend Danielle, came over with her 15 days old daughter, Olyvia. Mary was SOOOO good with Oly (as they call her!) She was patty Oly on the head when she started crying! Mary would also bring her toys over to her and then she brought her book over and was making babbling noises as if she was reading to her!!

Well, it's been awhile since I've updated this blog! We've been VERY busy!! We got back from Chattanooga 5 days ago- and what a trip it was!! We had such a nice time with the family! We rode Gran and Grandaddy's horses- Mary makes a clicking noise (like the sound of a horse walking) whenever she sees a horse now. We got to see Uncle Gary, Aunt Teri, Jeremy, Jessica, and cousin Ryan (Mary and Ryan seemed fasinated with each other...or better yet, with each others toys...) And Christmas and New Year's so much fun! Thank goodness in a few months we'll be able to see everyone more often!!

We had SUCH a great Christmas Eve and Christmas day!! Christmas Eve, we went to the annual party and the Paladino's followed by caroling! Mary seemed to enjoy that dispite the cold! (She loves singing!) Then we went to Midnight Mass where she behaved so well!! After Mass, we tried to get some good pictures of her in her pretty Christmas dress, and as usual, she was posing like a little model!!

Our Early Christmas

As most of you know, Mary is in Chattanooga right now spending a week with Grandaddy, Gran, and Aunt KK. Mommy's is (of course) missing her like crazy! But Mary is having fun and Gran and Grandaddy couldn't be happier right now! Because of this though, we celebrated our Christmas a little early, just so we wouldn't have to tote all her big presents back on the plan! Mary has decided that Christmas is her favorite, and she made this very evident by constantly letting out a random burst of laughter and non stop smiling! She loved opening up her presents- here are a few of her favorites!!

She LOVES her rocking horse!! She'll walk up to her horse and try to throw her leg over (She's still a little to short for it!) And then she'll pat its head! And she's so good about actually making it rock without Mommy helping!

She also got a stroller to push her baby dolls in. She's such a loving "mommy" to her baby dolls and kept letting them take turns! (She then tried to climb in it herself, it took her awhile to realize she's too big!)

We also bought her a Dora the Explorer tent. It's just a little pop up tent, but she LOVES hiding out in there! (She'll even let mommy and daddy in!) It's so cute, though, how she'll take all her toys in there and then start playing peek- a -boo with each one!

I gave her a sippy cup and then suddenly, she disappeared! I found her in her tent just drinking away! (On a quick note, we are officially off the bottle! Two weeks and no bottle!! Yay Mary!!)

As we were getting our Christmas decorations out, Mary came across our dancing snowman and penguins. She figured out how to push the button to make them sing and then she would dance along with them!! This past weekend we went to Sunriver, Oregon to go to the Annual Training Conference and Banquet. We had such a nice time despite the snow and cold (at one point it was 9 degrees...) Our condo had a hot tub outside, which two other army wives and I enjoyed. Mary, as usual, LOVED playing in the snow! And Richard and I got to go out while a babysitter watching Mary! It was such a nice weekend!!

Daddy, Mommy, Mary, and Uncle Allen took Great- Grandma Penny up to Hurricane Ridge to sight see. We got to the top and what do you know? IT WAS COVERED IN SNOW! (Typical of the mountains in Washington...) Mary LOVED walking around in the snow! We then toured the museum and Mary just kept walking around looking at all the pictures! She had everyone laughing at her because she would make the cutest sounds at each display!

Port Angeles

We spent Thanksgiving in Port Angeles visiting Richards family. The night before we left, we took Mary to the ER because she had a high fever and was vomiting. The docters told us it was a virus and gave her some anti- nausea medicine and it seemed to help! She was able to enjoy her trip... Just with a smaller appetite so she didn't eat her turkey! But she still had fun!!

We were trying to take some Christmas pictures while TT was here. She was in her new Christmas night gown- but she did NOT want to sit and just get her pictures taken! Instead, her and Hudson were playing tug of war! This is something they've done for awhile now. The blue mouse is Hudson's toy, and he would bring it to Mary and they would play together. NOW, Mary has decided that she wants the mouse. So, when poor Hudson tries to play, she gets mad. Poor little "Bubby"....

After Hudson took the mouse away, Mary decided she would teach herself to climb up on her toy box. And, sure enough, she did. It won't be long until she can climb out of her crib! She's close!! (Hopefully, it will take her a little while though...haha)

Unfortunatly, our little "princess" wasn't feeling to good on Halloween... She was still willing to get dressed up in her costume and then we went downtown where they open up all the shops and give out candy to everyone. There were HUNDREDS of kids down there and Mary had fun watching them, but we just stayed at Mommy's work and watched all the kids come in. Mary had fun with that. And Mommy even let her lick a lollipop (it is Halloween afterall!) But afterwards, I took our little princess home and she got to sleep off some of her cold....

Mary and I went to Chattanooga on October 6th through the 16th! We went to the playground with Gran, Grandaddy, Aunt KK, and Aunt TT. Mary is so good about actually climbing on the playground!! Richard, Mary and I went up to our friends house to see his family's horses. It was an early birthday present to me to go horse back riding around the mountains with Richard and our friend, Matt!! Mary and Aunt TT explored the property where it was discovered that Mary LOVES to walk up and down hills! After we got back from our ride, Daddy helped Mary sit on the family's miniture horse, Susie! Mary did so good riding Susie! She even tried to share her apple with her!!! (Mary got to eat an apple picked fresh off the tree! She figured out how to bite into it!) It was such a pretty day!! We had such a nice visit with Aunt TT!! And Mary had so much fun with the horses- she's really looking foward to meeting Dandie- Gran and Grandaddy's horse!!!

On Saturday, we had a birthday party for Mary at our friends house! All of Mary's friends showed up!! She had a great time (in the beginning, towards the end she was getting a little tired...) She helped open up her presents and took a big fist full of cake- she tried it, but she's not big into sweets! She was such a big girl playing in the yard with the other kids!! We also got her 1 year pictures done at Olan Mills!! So except to see those soon!!

We all went out to a Mexican restuarant called Xtapa for Mary's birthday!! It was really a nice time- she was very well behaved while eating her brocoli and cheese and her cheerios and the waiter brought her some apple juice to go with dinner!! Mary wasn't too sure about it, but she did get some on her finger and eat that...I think she just enjoyed feeling the cool-whip on her fingers.... (She's a VERY picky eater!) Today, we went to the river with some friends of ours to ride on their new sea- doos. Richard and I had a blast (even though I thought it was FREEZING!) And Mary had so much fun playing in the grass!! She was walking all around our picnic table and just kept picking up leaves and sticks and bringing them to me... It was so cute!! We took her down to the water, but she agreed with Mommy- it was to cold! I got some cute pictures of her though!!

A slight miracle happened that I just have to write about. On Sunday, we lost "Bunny", Mary's much loved bunny rabit/ blanket. We had a cook out at our friends moms house and somehow "Bunny" didn't make it into the truck! We were so upset!! Even though we had bought a back up bunny, it was still sad!! Our friends looked EVERYWHERE for "Bunny" but couldn't find it!! On Wednesday, Mary and I were watching old home videos of when she was younger and "Bunny" just kept popping up everywhere. So, I thought I would utter a quick prayer to St. Anthony. I asked him if he got some time could he possibly help find "Bunny" and not two minutes later, Ginnie called to tell me they found "Bunny"! She was out in the corn field and her husband just happened to glance that way as he was taking a load out to the compost!!! I couldn't believe it! I haven't been able to find a way to get a video of her walking on here...but this is a picture of her while she's walking. She walks all the time now!! Not far distances, but she's getting there! She walks farther and farther every day!!!

Mary is almost a year old! I can't believe how fast this year has gone! And how much she has changed!! She's officially a toddler seeing as she WALKS everywhere!! And she has gotten very vocal- though her words aren't distinguishable yet. She loves her cheerios and will share with mommy and daddy by putting them in our mouth! She's so sweet!! She also loves her apple juice and drinks it "from a big girls cup"!
